Tidewater Builders Association To Host Spring Homearama At Founders Pointe

Mark Edwards

Tidewater Builders Association will host a Spring 2010 Homearama showcase of homes in Isle of Wight County’s Founders Pointe community May-8-23, 2010. It will be the first time TBA has hosted a Spring Homearama and the first time Homearama has been held in Isle of Wight County during its 28-year history. The event is expected to draw over 80,000 guests over the course of two weeks. The community, just minutes from the historic town of Smithfield, is being developed by East West Communities, which has developed Isle of Wight County’s Eagle Harbor, Smithfield’s Gatling Pointe, and Suffolk’s The Riverfront, among others. “One of the most successful events we ever had was at The Riverfront in 2001,” said TBA President Pete A. Kotarides. “We’re fortunate to be able to work with East West Communities on another first-class event. We’re also glad to welcome the builders who have signed up for this event. These builders are considered the cream of the crop when it comes to custom homes in our area.” The event will feature eight tcustom homes ranging from 2,900 to 3,800 square feet and priced from $500,000 to $700,000. The builders participating include ABT Custom Homes, Bill Ore Inc., Birdsong Builders Inc., Hohmann Builders, Newhall Construction, Norman Miller Custom Builders, Sadler Building Corp. and Sasser Construction. Founders Pointe is already home to more than 130 families and offers a slice of nature and tranquility as it borders the Batten Bay and the James River tributaries and creeks. It’s also centrally located to all of Hampton Roads, a 10-minute drive to the Peninsula and 25 minutes from downtown Norfolk. Founders Pointe also offers its residents an observation pier and a residents’ club, which features a 4,000-square-foot swimming pool with a 112-foot water slide. When it’s complete, the community will include 319 homes.
